I started out in this industry as a naive peon.
I was a gopher. I was green.
I was unskilled.
I didn't know diddly-squat about owning a business. And I surely didn't understand the dynamics of what it takes to own a profitable business.
Unfortunately, this made me extremely vulnerable. I was vulnerable as a depressed women looking for love.

I believed everything I was told. I believed every ad, squeeze page, or website I visited. If the headline read, "Make $22,456 per day accepting friend requests on Facebook", I believed it. And I not only believed, but I bought into it.
I tried implementing course after course….training after training…book after book…and joined several membership sites. I participated in hundreds of discussion forums, gave tons of value whenever possible, and also established a social status that I thought was "attractable".
I did all of this….with miniscule results….results that I'm embarrassed to share.
And being the woman I am, I have to admit that I even cried about it. I cried on my couch's pillows, in frustration and desperation. I cried until I was blue in the face.
I cried until one day I was slapped with an epiphany. I took an educated glance across the "make money online" or "internet network marketing" or "internet marketing" industries and looked for "gurus" who were making money using the techniques they were teaching. I couldn't find a single person that was making money any other industries besides "make money online".
Give me 2 gurus that's making a six figure income, in other industries besides "internet marketing". Give me 2 "internet network marketing" gurus that's making a 6-figure residual income by building downline. I'd like to meet them. Introduce them to me!
My point is that most of these "gurus" are actually "bad-ru's". They are whore-monging LIARS. They aren't making the money they claim they are making….and when they do make a few dollars, it's NOT using the strategies they are teaching. All they do is sift boat loads of money from hard working people, who only want to make an extra paycheck to pay the bills.
The moral of the story is…..don't be fooled by all of the hype that's plastered across the internet.
Do your homework. Put your binoculars on.
Take the time to analyze who you trust!

Awesome commentary, almost "confession" Toni. That takes boldness and courage. I am giving you a standing ovation right now!!!!!!!!!!!! And your writing style is captivating and credible. I bet there are a lot more "wannabes" and "woodabeens" out there still stuck in that learning curve.I did a lot of fruitless things in the beginning too. And finally said to myself. Do what you know how to do and stick with it. Positive Results began to come in. Even Attraction Marketing began to happen. Good to get to know you.
