Whether you realize it or not, 95% of network marketers never make a single dime in this industry. To be perfectly honest with you, most people never make enough money to even cover their start-up costs.
After relentlessly studying this industry and observing market trends and successes, there are certain elements that each MLM company should possess. If the multi-level marketing company that your interested in joining does not have the following credentials, please don't don't join them. You may be destined to fail.
Ask yourself the following questions:
- Does this company offer a product that I would purchase, without the income opportunity attached to it? If you're going to join XYZ company, solely to sell the product to others, then you'll likely find the same or similar product somewhere else, for cheaper. There must be a market demand for the products your selling.
- Is your product offered at a local department store for a cheaper price? If so, the chances of your success is doomed.
- Does your company make 75% of it's sales from selling supplies? If your company's model is to sell you over-priced 3rd party tools, then run for your life. You will not make any money with this business model.
- Does your company rely on quick-start bonuses to build and keep sales high? These type of bonuses tend to encourage distributors to look for ways to cheat the system. Distributors will focus on aquiring people just to get the fast-start bonus, and won't help me in their downline be successful. This isn't good practice, therefore isn't recommended.
- How hard is it to explain the products that your offering? The products that you choose to sell should be very easy to explain and easy to manage.
- Your company should not allow nor encourage outrageous income claims. These claims are very hazordous to any company.
- Lastly, the economics of the company should clearly make sense. You should be able to easily figure out where the money is coming from.
Now, most companies probably won't meet all of the above criteria, which means most network marketing opportunities won't survive. You should always look for a winner and never settle for less.
